HitchWiki - A wiki site information about hitchhiking around the world, and more details about each country and state. Good info on U.S. states' laws about hitchhiking.
Digihitch - One of the larger forums. Mostly hitchhiking focused.
Squat the Planet - Has a great forum, and a friendly, helpful community of travelers. A great place to ask questions, and browse around.
TravelersHQ - Slightly newer forum. Slightly more focus on freight hopping. Not very heavily populated, but they have a good core group of experienced travelers.

Google Maps - Good for directions. Use the satellite view to find good spots to hitch from, rail yards, camp spots.
weather.com - Find out what the weather's going to be like. Their travel section has a page that shows the weather for major cities along the Interstate of your choice. Great way to be prepared for storms.
Google Voice - A way to get unlimited free texts (and apparently calls). Helps save minutes on prepaid phones.
Craigslist - Get cheap used gear. I haven't used their rideshare before, but it's could be useful sometime. Find a day or two of work. See what's going on in whichever town you happen to be in at the time.
